Wassup. I’m Madinah, a native of Washington, DC. I’m a health professional who recognized the need for a platform to educate the black community about Autism and ADHD in a way that makes sense to Us! This blog was inspired by my daughter Makkah (pronounced Mecca) who is autistic. Black children face many challenges while learning to navigate today’s world. For children with neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism and ADHD, it can feel impossible. We all have family members, friends, students etc. with one or both of these disorders. We are their village! It’s up to us to educate ourselves, provide top tier resources, and create a community of acceptance. I’m here to highlight culturally curated resources for families in DC (and the surrounding areas).
